ACA Douglas County Student Named 2023 Daniels Scholar

Sophia Katz of Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County has been named a 2023 Daniels Scholar. To be considered for this award, Sophia had to complete an initial application, submit a written essay, and complete a round of interviews before being selected to receive this competitive and prestigious scholarship.  

 

Sophia has attended Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County since 2021. At Ascent Classical, Sophia participates in Ballroom Dance and is the co-founder of the Rubik’s Cube club. In the fall she plans to attend a university to study Health Sciences. She has been accepted to CU Boulder, Colorado Christian University, Hillsdale College, and Michigan State University and is still determining which campus to attend.

Each year the Daniels Scholarship Program awards funding to students of up to $100,000 per student in order to pursue a four-year degree at a college or university of their choice. Eligible applicants include graduating high school seniors in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming with an average GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

Of being awarded this scholarship, Sophia says, “This scholarship is a huge blessing to my family and it goes to show that you can achieve great things when you simply put in the work.Ascent Classical Academies congratulates Sophia on this honorable achievement.
