The governing board for Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools voted unanimously during its regular meeting on March 28, 2023, to appoint Mr. Jeffrey Jones as the headmaster of Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County. 

Mr. Jones joins Ascent Classical Academies following an accomplished career in classical education. Prior to joining Ascent, he served as Headmaster for the School of Logic at the Geneva School of Boerne for five years and as Headmaster/Principal – among other roles – at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy for fifteen years.  

Jones holds a Master of Education degree, with honors, in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication Studies from East Stroudsburg University. In addition to his degrees, he has also studied English Language and Literature, as well as the Classics and Latin. 

“We welcome Mr. Jones and his family to the Douglas County community. His experience and commitment to classical education will greatly benefit the students and families at Ascent,” said Derec Schuler, executive director of Ascent Classical Academies.

Mr. Jones will join the Douglas County campus on Wednesday, April 5. His wife, Autumn, and their two children, Mason and Piper, will move to Colorado this summer.
